Windows 8 News Leak on Linkedin

A Microsoft employee, Robert Morgan posted some interesting job details on his linkedin profile.

Working in high security department for research and development involving strategic planning for medium and longterm projects. Research & Development projects including 128bit architecture compatibility with the Windows 8 kernel and Windows 9 project plan. Forming relationships with major partners: Intel, AMD, HP and IBM.

Some great Windows 8 news! That means the Windows 8 kernel might indeed support 128-bit, but if that is going to be support for a 128-bit CPU or FPU, we don’t know.

The news leak also confirms that Windows 9 is already in planning stage.

It will be interesting to see what Microsoft is up to, maybe they really go for a 128-bit optimized system and find a way to minimize compatibility issues. Robert Morgan is also working with the major key partners of Microsoft (AMD, Intel, IBM, ..). If Intel and AMD are really developing a 128-bit FPU/CPU we will soon get more news about it.

By now the job details have been removed, but of course there’s a Google cache. You can find the real leak here:
